Morning-after update: South Carolina failed bigly Saturday night, turning what should have ben a close game into a major and humiliating butt-whooping. Clemson and overrated Day-Suck Watson looked just as weak as ever, if not more so. The game was the Gamecocks’ to have and they failed to take it.
Truth in the Word didn’t try to predict the outcome of this year’s election, but we will predict, for the first time, the outcome of the South Carolina Gamecocks vs. Clemson Tigers game held today in Clemson, S.C.
Gamecocks beat Tigers by two points
Setting the stage: ClemPson Tiggers
The 2016 Clemson Tigers, as usual, were overrated during the entire season. The Tiggers couldn’t overcome Pitt (really?) and succumbed to powerhouse (NOT!) NC State. Sure, NC State lost the game because of a horrible kicker (who missed HOW MANY field goals in that game???). Clemson got the statistical win, but the game was actually a loss.
ClemPson barely eked out a win vs. Florida State (another practical loss), Auburn and Troy (OMG), so the Tigers are an 8-3 team right now. Day-Suck Watson is coasting as he eyes his future career, so don’t expect him to take any risks that could cost him millions of dollars down the road. Also, with Day-Suck Watson heading for the exit, the rest of the Clemson squad is even more demoralized. C’mon folks, the so-called #4 team lost to Pitt. That tells the story, doesn’t it?
Setting the stage: South Carolina Gamecocks
After being sabotaged by Steve Spurrier, the creep who quit on the team as soon as he became the “winningest coach,” the Gamecocks have understandably languished. After a rough start this season, a new quarterback emerged. Bently has infused zeal and hope into the previously distraught Gamecocks. The team has a winning record under Bently and has become bowl eligible during a season where no one expected them to win more than two games.
Last year, “experts” predicted a Clemson win over South Carolina by 35 points. In the end, the so-called “#2” team won by 5 (less than a touchdown). Sure, Clemson was weak in 2015. They were undefeated thanks to their deep pockets being able to buy them a schedule without any meaningful challengers. As soon as Clemson played a “real team” (North Carolina), the team collectively choked. Clemson had to rely on their ref to win the playoff and then move on to meet Alabama. Clemson choked vs. Alabam, showing the world what we knew all along: Clemson was hideously weak and horribly overrated.
2016 brought another rigged schedule to Clemson, but the team buckled throughout the season despite their bought-and-paid-for ESPN “analysts” and pollsters. Contrary to what the Kool Aid drinkers have to say, Day-Suck Watson is even weaker this year than last. The team lost outright to Pitt (OMG) and had two additional practical losses to achieve an 8-3 record in a weak conference against weak opponents.
Clemson declining, South Carolina rising
With Clemson on decline, South Carolina is on the way up. The new QB has energized the team and the under-rated coach, Will Muschamp, has set his sights higher than the power-brokers would like.
Last year, “experts” predicted that ClemPson would win by 35 points. That guess was off by 30 points. This year, “experts” are predicting a 24-point win for the Tiggers. If the predictions are again off by 30 points, the Gamecocks win by 6.
Summary: Gamecocks win by two
Truth in the Word predicts that the South Carolina Gamecocks will beat the Clemson Tigers by two points today. Here’s why:
- Clemson weaker this year over last. Gamecocks stronger.
- Overconfidence: Clemson believes their own lies. They are not a #4 team. Probably not a top 25 team. Day-Suck Watson is not even close to being the best QB in college football.
- Day-Suck Watson headed for the exit will focus on safety over victory.
- Demoralized ClemPson squad. Energized Gamecocks.
- Inflated predictions can’t be more wrong than they were last year.
- Underrated South Carolina competes in a stronger conference against stronger opponents.
- Home-field advantage will trim Gamecocks victory from 6 down to 2 points.
Enjoy your day. Enjoy the game. Remember, you FIRST heard about the Gamecocks’ win right here at Truth in the Word.
